A judge in Missoula sentenced Daniel L. Prus of Bozeman and Eric C. Riggs, formerly of Bozeman, on Tuesday in unrelated cases.

Prus received a sentence of five years in prison and lifetime supervision. For Riggs, the punishment is eight years in prison and 15 years under supervision. Prus is 25 and Riggs 24.

The case against Prus began when child pornography was found on a computer retrieved from a trash bin and traced to him. In the Riggs case, the FBI investigated a report that child pornography was put into a Yahoo account by a person in the Bozeman area. The crime was traced to Riggs, who lived in Montana State University student housing and had child pornography on his computer.
