Linking to stories

Linking to content on greatfallstribune.com

It's perfectly acceptable to post a link to content on greatfallstribune.com. It's also permissible to use a short -- no more than one paragraph -- excerpt from the content to introduce the link.

It's not acceptable to reprint, copy and paste, or otherwise republish content onto another site.

How long will links be available?

Most articles posted at greatfallstribune.com are available free for seven days. Some stories that are part of larger story packages are available longer.

However, links to a story on the site will work, in most cases, for 60 days. After that, stories fall off the site unless they are part of a special package.

If you would like to link to a story for longer than 60 days after it is published, please e-mail our online staff to let us know so we can make the story remain on the site on a more permanent basis. It's much easier to prevent the story from falling off the site than it is to bring it back.

If a story disappears and you haven't requested beforehand that it be left online, we may not be able to bring back the link.
